Feasts & Festivals

Indiana has a wealth of feasts and festivals. Getting the word out isn't always easy for local communities. Indiana Foodways Alliance wants to help promote such festivities and help local communities be more successful.

November 1-2
Muster on the Wabash
Vincennes, IN, held at Vincennes State Historic Site
War of 1812 battle re-enactments, weapons demonstrations, children’s activities, live music, pioneer foods and traders and vendors

Festival of Gingerbread
Fort Wayne, IN, held at the History Center
100 gingerbread houses, decorations, cookies and entertainment
Monday-Thursday 9 am-5 pm; Friday 9 am-8 pm; Saturday and Sunday Noon-5 pm; Closed Thanksgiving Day
Admission: $5/adults, $3/seniors and students, 5 and under free

Nights Before Christmas
Madison, IN, held in downtown Madison
Enjoy tours of Lanier Mansion, the Costigan House, the Masonic Schofield House and The Heritage Center
Tour Hours:  Friday and Saturday 5 pm-9 pm, Sunday 4 pm-7 pm
Admission: $15/adults, $12.50 in advance, $5/ children 5-15, 4 and under free

One of the Midwest’s largest collections of holiday angels, celestial creatures and cherubs

Paramount Festival of Trees

The Purdue Christmas Show
West Lafayette, IN, held at the Elliott Hall of Music
Holiday music performed by 250 to 300 students from various ensembles
Friday: 11:30 am (school matinee) & 8 pm

Sunday: noon & 4 pm

INDIANA FOOD FACT: Bison burgers grilled over an open fire add one of the pioneer-era aromas and tastes to the Mississinewa 1812 Festival in Marion. Foodies with a pioneer spirit can catch the next Mississinewa 1812 Festival, which takes place each year in October.
